Situation

At Ingram Micro, a Fortune 500 company, I was a part of the CloudBlue PaaS platform division. I managed a portfolio of B2B SaaS, including the billing scenarios for subscription cancellations for CloudBlue Commerce.

I had to implement several user scenarios within 3 months to comply with the new cancellation policies from a software vendor.

Task

I had to:

  • Identify the vendor’s requirements,
  • Evaluate the needed changes and collaborate with the engineering team on finding the optimal technical solution that decreases the costs as much as possible.
  • Launch the new scenarios on time to avoid penalties from the vendor.

The key metrics that I was targeting were:

  • Reducing costs for developing the new scenarios.

Action

I analysed the vendor’s requirements, collaborated with their representatives to clarify the requirements and consult on the implementation variants.

Results

During the analysis:

  • I identified the user scenarios.
  • Collaborated with the engineering team on finding the optimal technical solution.

As a result:

  • My team and I introduced the new billing scenarios that:
    • Implied minimal development costs,
    • Excluded penalties from the vendor.
